Paper copy of the Hamnavoe Socks pattern by Lesley Smith, these socks are knitted with traditional Fair-Isle colours and patterns. The yarn (Shetland Heritage) is knit doubled to give a thicker sock and knit at quite a firm tension. Both sizes follow the same pattern but the gents version is knit on a slightly larger needle with a looser tension of 27sts & 31rs over 10cm. The socks are knit from the cuff down with an afterthought heel which is knit the same as the toe.

Finished Sizes:

Ladies - foot length = 9.75"/25cm, foot width = 8.5"/21/5cm knit using 3.5mm double pointed needles

Gents - foot length = 10.75"/27cm, foot width = 9"/22.5cm knit using 3.5 and 4mm double pointed needles
