For small size : 35 yards (32m) of each of the 9 colours 

For large size : 95 yards (87m) of each of the 9 colours

MC – 366; 1 x 25g ball

CC1 – FC9; 1 x 25g ball

CC2 – FC51; 1 x 25g ball

CC3 – 29; 1 x 25g ball

CC4 – 141; 1 x 25g ball

CC5 – FC24; 1 x 25g ball

For the small size:

two 3mm 16”/40cm (UK11 /US 2-3) circular needles

For the large size: 

two 3mm (UK11 /US 2-3) needles, 40-60” (100-150cm) long. You may wish to transfer groups of stiches to shorter 3mm needles for ease while grafing.

For both sizes: 

stitch markers

3mm (US C/2 – D/3 – UK 11) crochet hook

tapestry needle for grafting and weaving in ends

blocking wires and pins

Sizes and dimensions

Both sizes of cowl measure 9” (23cm) in depth

Size 1 (small) measures 24.5” (62cm) in circumference 

Size 2 (large) measures 91” (231cm) in circumference

You can also adjust the length to suit you by casting on in multiples of 21.

Tension

1 full repeat of cockleshell pattern = 3.5” wide and 1.5” high.

The lace pattern is extremely stretchy, and expands after blocking
